Our FIRST Pet!
February 2011 - We got our first pet and his name is Fishy! Thanks to Adalynn, David was given a fish tank and gift card to pick out a fish for Christmas. So, we took David to Walmart and let him pick out his own fish and all the equipment to go in the take with his fish. I would have to admit that David picked the most beautiful fish in the store! It's a BLUE male Beta fish and this fish has a lot of personality. Even though he is just a fish, I think he knows he is part of our family. When we leave town, he goes into depression and refuses to eat. We always find a fishsitter, but when we return the tank is full of uneaten food. We always "leave the light on" for Fishy while we are gone. David and Hannah sure do love Fishy and we think Fishy sure loves them, even if they do tend to startle him often!

So happy for David's choice. He looks so happy and excited! Hopefully you don't go through fish like we do. We return, almost weekly, to get new fish. In fact, there's 3 in the freezer waiting to be returned now! (Our Walmart requires we bring the deceased fish in to "return" within 60 days.) It's real unfortunate that we kill so many fish just so our daughter can look at the tank and say, "Pish, daddy. Pish." Oh, since we helped with David's first pet, we'd love to help Hannah with her first pet too, and contribute a beautiful, long-haired, adorable, yet yippy, Pomeranian named Piper. I just KNOW Hannah will lover her and she will fit right in with your busy family. C'mon. Do it for the kids. You know they want her...because I sure as heck DON'T! :) We love you guys and hope Fishy brings you lots of joy!

what a fun pet! just make sure the food isn't left out.. or you might find the whole bottle generously fed to the fish!!! Your kids sure are growing up!!! We need to plan a get together or something!!! Sure miss you guys!
